Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president MK Stalin on Friday, October 31, 2025, condemned some remarks reportedly made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during an election campaign in Bihar that “incited enmity between Tamils and people of Bihar”.
In a social media post, Mr. Stalin shared a video clip in which Mr. Modi was heard making allegations that DMK members in Tamil Nadu were harming people from Bihar.
“As a Tamil, I am pained and request Mr. Narendra Modi not to forget from time to time that he is the Prime Minister of this country and not to lose the dignity that this office carries by making such speeches,” Mr. Stalin said.
As Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Mr. Stalin said he accused the BJP of “spewing hatred against the Tamils” whether in Odisha or Bihar.
Mr. Stalin also said that the Prime Minister and “BJP men” should stop indulging in “cheap” political actions that create hatred between Hindus and Muslims and fuel hostility between Tamils and the people of Bihar in a very diverse country that has always stood together in its diversity. Instead, they should look after the welfare of the country, he said.
