Royal Family LIVE: Prince Harry ‘angry’ after Meghan’s ‘big mistake’ | Royal | News

Prince Harry was “despondent but not surprised” after his mother’s name was used in reactions to his wife Meghan Markle’s trip to Paris. Last week, the 44-year-old Duchess of Sussex stepped out alone at Paris Fashion Week.

After attending the Balenciaga show and after-event party, the Duchess shared a video on Instagram of herself lifting her feet up on a chair in the car as she drove past Paris landmarks, including the Pont de l’Alma bridge, which leads to the Pont de l’Alma tunnel, the tunnel where Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, died in August 1997. This sparked outrage from royal fans, with many calling the move insensitive.

But while it is believed Prince Harry, 41, may have been “horrified” by his wife’s video, it was reported that he was actually “saddened” as people used the video to highlight his mother’s name and criticize Meghan, who was not even aware she was close to the tunnel where Diana died.

A friend of the couple he told The Mail on Sunday.: “Harry was hurt and upset. Diana’s death was used as a stick to beat his wife with.” [Meghan] He didn’t even go near the tunnel. The whole thing was a joke, but it wasn’t very funny to Harry. He felt hurt, but the depressing thing was that he wasn’t that surprised. “He was more despondent than shocked.”
