Public Health Emergency Operation Centre Set Up at Rs 5 Cr

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government has set up a ‘Public Health Emergency Operation Center’ at Mangalagiri in Guntur district to deal with outbreaks of infectious diseases such as fever, diarrhea and others, food poisoning and Covid-like situations.
The Center will have access to all information related to disaster management, fire, police, weather and other departments and will take advance measures to keep the public safe, Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav said here on Monday.
The Minister said that he will coordinate between both the Center and the state government in the functioning of the command and control center set up by the health department. He added that a senior surveillance officer will oversee the functioning of the centre, which has been set up with the support of the Centre, at a cost of Rs.5 crore.
