Public wages outpace private as inflation looms | The Canberra Times

The wage price index (WPI) increased by 3.4 per cent in the 12 months to December 2025, according to Australian Bureau of Statistics data. This rate was below inflation in the same period; 3.8 percent, which means wages are rising more slowly than the cost of living.
