Pull out your needles & thread for unofficial world record attempt in the Great Global Mend

A global activity hopes to leave people to sew.

On Saturday, October 11, the Great Global Mend is an informal world record attempt for most people in repairing and repairing clothing and textiles at the same time.

It is organized jointly with Fabatch and Circular Fashion Festival. 16 Residents in the Perth council will participate in the task of combating textile waste and celebrate the repair power.

The event of the city of Canning will be held at the Hillview Intercultural Community Center in Bentley and the participants will be invited to arrive just before the event starts at 11 o’clock.

At 11:00, the participants will start to repair an informal attempt in the world record at the same time.

Participants can bring their worn out of their clothes and textiles to life while learning sustainable fashion applications, from hand to looking and patch to skills and sharing skills.

The event will offer a limited number of free rubbing patch, common repair area and a Fabatch station and personal repair stories and sustainability tips that offer a practical repair guidance.

Participants will have to bring their own needles and threads and other repair materials.

Canning Mayor Patrick Hall said, “It is inspiring to see that it has come together to defend the value of repairing the repair of 16 local governments.”

“Repair is an act of resistance against the culture of firing. This event is not only to obtain a record, but also to change the mentality and to celebrate community -guided solutions struggling with textile wastes.

“I want to encourage the inhabitants to come, correct, bring your sewing kit, and help us make history.”

The city of Cockburn will join Great Global Mend in the City of Cockburn, Southern Lake Ottey family and neighborhood center and Melville city libraries.
