Push to criminalise pro-Palestine phrases ignores context

Scenario A: A young, white, prominent Australian stands on the steps of Sydney City Hall during a rally protesting the visit of the Israeli president and shouts: “From Gadigal to Gaza, globalize the intifada!”
Scenario B: A man dressed in black stands in front of a synagogue. When the Jewish community shows up, he snarls a single word at each of them in turn: “Intifada.”
Context, one is fascinated by, is everything.
