Pyaas Foundation, with the support of its CSR partner AKP Ferrocast, has initiated the rejuvenation and development project of two lakes at Halshiwadi in Belagavi district of Karnataka.

“The project will provide ample access to water for farmers and residents in the coming years,” Pyaas Foundation chairman Madhav Prabhu said during the launch of the work at Halshiwadi village near Khanapur.

“Given the increasing impact of water scarcity on agriculture and rural livelihoods, the foundation has undertaken the development of these two important lakes. The project includes desilting, structural repairs and increasing water storage capacity,” he said.

He expressed his gratitude to the Bhandare family, especially Parag Bhandare and Preeti Bhandare, whose support made the project possible. Parag Bhandare and Preeti Bhandare extend their support to the work through AKP Ferrocast’s CSR initiative

“Effective water management is one of the most critical challenges of our time. Rejuvenation of lakes helps conserve rainwater and improves groundwater levels. This initiative will significantly benefit farmers in Halshiwadi and nearby areas by ensuring reliable water supply and will also help solve drinking water problems faced by villagers,” he said.

Former taluk panchayat member Chandrakant Desai said that the project will contribute to alleviating water scarcity, improving groundwater and overall development of the village. He assured full cooperation from the local community for the successful implementation of the initiative.
