Quakers Hill stabbing: Two dead, man charged

A Sydney man has been charged with double murder after allegedly stabbing his ex-partner to death and leaving his new partner critically injured on the pavement, before throwing a knife at a gas station and handing himself in to police.

Anaseini Waqavuki, 38, was found dead in the kitchen of her home on Illabo Street in Quakers Hill after suffering multiple stab wounds. Emergency services were called to the home just before 5am on Sunday following reports of a disturbance.

Anaseini Waqavuki was identified as one of the victims of the alleged stabbing.

A 30-year-old man was also found on the footpath with stab wounds in his stomach and hands. He was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition but died around 9am.

A 47-year-old man was arrested on arrival at Blacktown Police Station at around 5.30am on Sunday and charged with two counts of murder that evening.

Investigators believe the male in custody was previously involved with Waqavuki.

Inspector Jason Joyce, of Riverstone Police Area Command, said: “At this stage it appears to be a domestic violence incident.”
