Active shooter at Michigan synagogue, authorities say

Michigan State Police reported an active shooter incident at Temple Israel Synagogue in West Bloomfield, Michigan, and law enforcement rushed to the scene.
No official details have been released yet, but aerial news footage taken above the synagogue shows clouds of smoke rising from the roof of the building, with police and fire trucks nearby.
Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard told CNN: “Other than the potential shooter, no one has been confirmed injured at this time.”
Temple Israel operates an early childhood center that provides child care and education to children as young as six weeks old, according to its website.
“FBI personnel, along with partners in Michigan, are on scene and responding to an apparent vehicle collision and active shooter situation at Temple Israel Synagogue in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan,” FBI Director Kash Patel wrote about
The Jewish Federation of Detroit posted a message on its Facebook page stating that its affiliates are “currently under precautionary lockdown” in response to the Temple Israel incident.
Since U.S. and Israeli warplanes launched major airstrikes on Iran on February 28, Jewish organizations in the United States have been operating under high security, sparking an intensifying war in the Middle East.
