Sophie Grégoire reacts to ex Justin Trudeau’s romance with Katy Perry

Sophie Grégoire has some thoughts about ex-husband Justin Trudeau’s budding romance with Katy Perry.
During an appearance “Arlene Alone” podcast This week, Grégoire, who split from Trudeau in 2023 after 18 years of marriage, opened up about how she dealt with the outside “noise” and navigated her emotions as her ex moved on.
When host Arlene Dickinson asked Grégoire how she was dealing with the publicity surrounding Trudeau and Perry’s relationship, Grégoire said she was only human.
“We are all human and events affect us,” he said. “It’s your decision how you react to things. That’s why I choose to listen to music instead of noise.”

“I realize a lot of things out there in public can be triggering, we’re human,” she continued. “What I do with this is my decision. The woman I want to be in this process is my decision. Does this mean I don’t have emotions? Does it mean I don’t cry, scream, laugh? No!”
Despite the split, Trudeau and Grégoire, who share three children: Xavier, 18, Ella-Grace, 16, and Hadrien, 11, remain a united front when it comes to family.

“We have separate lives, but we have one family life,” Grégoire said. “And I think we need two people in a couple to sort out the confusion.”
“It’s not always easy to live, but it’s a very adult thing,” he added.
