Murder probe is launched after 19-year-old boy stabbed in London street dies in hospital
A murder investigation has been launched after a teenager who was stabbed earlier this week died in hospital.
Rinneau Perrineau, 19, was the victim of a knife attack at Lavender Hill in Wandsworth, south London, on Tuesday (October 21).
Paramedics from the Metropolitan Police and the London Ambulance service rushed to the busy main road leading to Clapham Junction station and treated Mr Perrineau’s injuries at around 3.26pm.
The 19-year-old was taken to hospital but his condition rapidly deteriorated and he tragically died on Friday evening.
His family, supported by specially trained police officers, paid tribute to Mr Perrineau, known as ‘Ren’.
They said: ‘Ren was loved by many people, he was always there for his family. We will miss him very much.’
Nearby Beauchamp Road and the adjacent street were cordoned off by police for several hours after the incident.
Floral gifts and wreaths were tied to a lamppost near where the tragedy occurred. A row of candles with the name ‘REN’ written on them were placed on the floor.

Detectives have arrested one person and are ‘urgently investigating as the investigation progresses rapidly’.
They said Mr Perrineau’s death was believed to be an isolated incident but asked for ‘a number of witnesses’ to come forward.
Acting District Commander Amanda Mawhinney, who is leading policing efforts in the area, said: ‘Our thoughts are with the victim’s loved ones at this terrible time.
‘This was a shocking crime committed in broad daylight. A young man’s life was taken, and his family and friends suffered an irreversible loss.
‘Our officers are making every effort to bring those responsible to justice. ‘Residents may notice police presence at crime scenes as patrols have been increased in the local area.’
Officers are appealing for anyone who was on Beauchamp Road between 3.20pm and 3.30pm on October 21 to call 101 quoting crime reference 4781/21OCT.
