Girl, 17, who died after three-car crash in Cwmbran was ‘funny, kind and caring’ | Wales

The 17-year-old girl who died in a three-car crash in Wales was “funny, kind and caring”, her brother has said.

Gwent police said Demi Edmunds was the sole pedestrian in the incident, which happened on the A4042 in Cwmbran, Torfaen, Wales, at around 12.25pm ​​on Thursday.

The teenager from Caldicot was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Demi was the best sister I could have asked for. She was funny, kind and caring,” her brother Jake said in a tribute released by the agency on Saturday.

“He and I were very close. He was like my best friend who I could trust with anything, but he’s not with us anymore. I hope he’s in heaven, in a better place.”

Police said the family has requested privacy to grieve.

The family said in a joint statement: “Demi was a much-loved daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin and niece. Demi loved her friends and was loved by everyone.”

Investigations are ongoing and police have appealed for anyone with information, including CCTV or dashcam footage, to contact quoting log reference 2600046163.

The Welsh ambulance service also attended the incident.
