An Essex Police spokesman said: “The road is likely to be closed while emergency services attend to the collision and investigate what happened.

“There was a less serious collision on the other motorway at similar times, but we believe this is an isolated incident.

“Please avoid the area if possible, if you saw what happened or have any dashcam footage we would like you to contact us.

“If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage relating to this incident please contact us.
