Trump Orders Greenland Invasion Plan After Maduro Success; Joint Chiefs Resist, Saying ‘It’s Illegal’ | World News

Encouraged by the success of the operation to capture Maduro, US President Donald Trump reportedly ordered special force commanders to prepare a plan for the invasion of Greenland; The move was opposed by America’s top military brass on the grounds that it would be illegal and lack congressional support.
The Daily Mail, citing anonymous sources, reported that the President instructed the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) to develop the plan. Senior military leaders opposed the idea, with the Joint Chiefs of Staff warning that the operation would violate international law and would not receive approval from Congress.
This development took place the day before, when Trump gave a harsh warning to Denmark regarding Greenland, saying that the USA would choose the easy or the hard way. He added that if America does not take over Greenland, Russia or China will.

Trump: “I Don’t Need International Law”
The day before, Trump had declared that nothing could stop him but his own morality, not international law.
“Yes, there is one thing. My own morality. My own mind. That’s the only thing that can stop me. I don’t need international law,” he said in an interview with the New York Times, adding: “I don’t want to hurt people.”
Trump has been vocal about his demand to seize Greenland, even going so far as to say he would get it one way or another.
Denmark Signals It’s Ready to Defend Greenland
Denmark took Trump’s warning seriously and announced that it was ready to defend Greenland and that in case of a US invasion, its soldiers should shoot first and ask questions later.
Doomsday Plane Signals Increasing Military Preparations
As tensions escalate, the US Air Force’s E-4B Night Watch “Doomsday Plane” has been spotted around Washington DC. Immune to nuclear explosions, this airborne military command center was last seen in the capital in June 2025. Although no emergency has been declared, the presence of this center signals that the United States is preparing for all possible scenarios, including major conflicts.
The sighting of the E-4B Night Watch is significant because it indicates increased US military preparedness during crises such as the Greenland tension.
Why is Greenland Strategically Important?
Greenland is a self-governing territory of the Kingdom of Denmark. Its location in the Arctic makes it strategically important for defense and early warning systems in the North Atlantic.
Greenland remains strategically vital, hosting the Pituffik Cosmodrome, which is key to missile warning and space surveillance across the North Atlantic.
