Bikini-clad Kerry Katona, 45, packs on the PDA with boyfriend Paolo Margaglione, 33, during sun-soaked yacht trip as she is seen for the first time since being rushed to hospital over a suspected stoke

Kerry Katona enjoyed a sunny yacht trip in Marbella on Thursday, her first sighting since being hospitalized with a suspected stroke.

The Atomic Kitten singer, 45, was accompanied on board by her boyfriend Paolo Margaglione, 33, and their two children to celebrate her rarely seen son Maxwell’s 18th birthday.

Kerry, who is set to move to Spain later this year, showed off her toned and tattooed body as she wore a tiny thong bikini to complement her tan.

The mother-of-five, who admitted she feared for her life after a recent rush to hospital, was seen packing on the PDA with hunky Paolo as she sizzled in the vibrant two-piece.

The lovebirds were later joined by birthday boy Maxwell and Kerry’s 19-year-old daughter Heidi, whom she shares with second husband Mark Croft.

The singer is also mum to daughters Molly, 24, and Lily-Sue, 22, from her first marriage to Westlife’s Brian McFadden. As well as the 11-year-old DJ she shares with third husband George Kay.

Kerry said she had “never been so scared” after her daughter Heidi realized she couldn’t smile properly while watching her eldest son Molly at a play in London.

Kerry revealed that she noticed his lack of facial movements when he went to the bathroom mid-performance.

Speaking for the first time about the devastating health scare, Kerry said: Mirror: ‘Heidi said: “Mom, what’s wrong with your face?” I started to panic. I left secretly, went to my hotel and asked to see a doctor. ‘Something’s wrong,’ I told the staff.’

The hotel told Kerry a doctor wouldn’t be able to see him for four hours, so he took a taxi to St Thomas’ Hospital.

He said: ‘I I got there and they said, “We’re treating this as a stroke” and gave me the blue light in the ambulance from St Thomas’s to King’s College Hospital. They shined light into my eyes as my face and speech deteriorated.

‘An hour ago I was watching our Molly in a play and now I’m being treated for a stroke. What’s the real fuck? ‘This just shows how quickly things can change.’

A stroke is a medical emergency that occurs when blood flow to a part of the brain is interrupted (ischemic) or a blood vessel bursts (hemorrhagic), depriving brain cells of oxygen and causing them to die.

It requires immediate emergency medical attention to prevent permanent damage or death.

Frightened, Kerry texted all her children, fearing she would never be able to speak to them again.

He added: ‘This really scared me. I texted all my kids and told them I loved them. ‘I’ve never been this scared in my life.’

Kerry had to undergo tests and CT scans to find out why her speech had become slurred and her facial muscles had stopped working properly.

Doctors ruled out a stroke but Kerry said CT scans showed ‘part of my brain was broken and unable to send signals to my face due to stress’.

He said that he noticed that his speech was different from the voice in his head and that he felt severe pain in his head.

Kerry said she plans to get speech therapy and do facial exercises, and doctors have told her movement and speech will return.

But he said he was ‘a little panicked’.

It comes after Kerry revealed she had suffered two miscarriages with boyfriend Paolo after becoming unexpectedly pregnant while filming Celebs Go Dating earlier this month.

The singer has been dating personal trainer Paolo since they met on the set of Celebs Go Dating, which began filming around April 2025, and she was seen getting pregnant on the show.

The couple made their relationship public in June 2025 and began living together two months later.

Paolo said in Paul C. Brunson’s We: We Need To Talk podcast,: ‘So Kerry was unknowingly pregnant during the finale of Celebs Go Dating… I found out this morning. I could smell him, oddly enough. “You’re pregnant,” I said.

Kerry said: ‘I kept getting these hormonal blemishes. We did the test at night, he said no, so I said I would do it early in the morning.

‘And so we had an apartment in the hotel. I woke up early, meditated so I wouldn’t wake him up, and peed on the stick. This is a private matter, I have not made it public.

I didn’t tell anyone about this part of ‘Anna’. Don’t be jealous. And nothing came of it. So I went to meditate, I’ll blow this spot, I came back and left [looks at pregnancy test] No, no, no, it’s not possible. I ran and woke him up. ‘I haven’t been pregnant in seven years.’

Kerry said: ‘Then the thought of having an abortion killed me. It was like it was made out of love… And unfortunately I had a miscarriage and then we tried.

‘And in just four weeks I had miscarried again. And I didn’t realize at the time how much I wanted it.’

CAUSES OF STROKE

There are two main types of stroke:

1. ISCHEMIC STROKE

Ischemic stroke, which accounts for 80 percent of strokes, occurs when there is a blockage in a blood vessel that prevents blood from reaching part of the brain.

2. BLEEDING STROKE

Less common, hemorrhagic stroke occurs when a blood vessel bursts, filling part of the brain with too much blood while depriving other areas of adequate blood flow.

It may be the result of an AVM or arteriovenous malformation (cluster of abnormal blood vessels) in the brain.

30 percent of subarachnoid hemorrhage patients die before reaching the hospital. Another 25 percent die within 24 hours. And 40 percent of those who survive die within a week.

RISK FACTORS

Age, high blood pressure, smoking, obesity, sedentary lifestyle, diabetes, atrial fibrillation, family history, and previous history of stroke or TIA (mini-stroke) are risk factors for having a stroke.

STROKE SYMPTOMS

  • Sudden numbness or weakness in the face, arm, or leg, especially on one side of the body
  • Sudden confusion, difficulty speaking or understanding
  • Sudden trouble seeing or blurred vision in one or both eyes
  • Sudden difficulty walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination
  • Sudden severe headache with no known cause

RESULTS

Most of the roughly three in four stroke survivors will experience lifelong disability.

This includes difficulties walking, communicating, eating, and completing daily tasks or household chores.

TREATMENT

Both are potentially fatal, and patients need surgery within three hours or a drug called tPA (tissue plasminogen activator) to save them.
