Radio duo end 2025 on a low in Melbourne

Provocative radio duo Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson finished 2025 on a low, with their equally worst ratings results since launching their show in Melbourne two years ago.

The show’s 5 percent audience share in the eighth and final ratings survey of 2025, released Tuesday morning, mirrors its result in the final survey of 2024, although the cumulative listenership was 1,000 fewer.

2025 has been another year to forget for Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson in Melbourne.

The pair signed a salary deal worth $200 million over ten years, capping an already tumultuous year for their network KIIS and parent company ARN Media.

The ARN had to use multiple sensors to ensure Sandilands and Henderson did not breach radio broadcasting rules, as they had breached the rules that are supposed to ensure integrity on air a dozen times in 2025 alone.

As a result of low ratings combined with extensive campaigning by activist group Mad F—ing Witches, ARN’s advertising share has fallen over the two years since the show expanded to Melbourne in April 2024.

The performance also led to a rethink. ‘Kyle and Jackie O’s Show’Planned national distribution that helps justify homeowners’ pay packets.

In Brisbane, network brings back previously abandoned breakfast trio Robin, Kip and Corey It’s for 2026 and former Nova and Triple J personalities Ben Harvey and Liam Stapleton are scheduled to start in Adelaide. Sandilands and Henderson are not broadcast in these markets.

While KIIS’s 5.4 per cent total audience share in Melbourne was poor compared to the network’s commercial rivals, ARN’s other station Gold delivered a 13.3 per cent total audience share, making it the top FM station by some distance, only marginally behind perennial market leaders AM talkback station 3AW at 13.9 per cent.
