Funfair worker who died on job is pictured for the first time | UK | News

The United Kingdom Funfair employee, who died in a “workplace accident”, was first piocoured and the tributes spilled for him. Corrie Lee-Stavers suffered a serious head trauma in an accident in the Spanish City Summer Funfair in the Gulf of Whitley, shortly after 14.15 on Saturday.

“Very popular” son and brother were treated at the scene, but unfortunately he died soon. His sister Ashley McCabe released an emotional tribute on Facebook and told his friends that he would “never be the same without him”. He wrote: “With broken hearts, we share the destructive news that our beloved brother Corrie passed away. While working on a fairground journey, we were tragically taken from us in an accident. None of us have been prepared for it and it is impossible to pour the pain of losing it suddenly.

“Our lives will never be the same without him, but his memory will live in our hearts forever.

“We love you endlessly, and we miss you more than words that words can say. Now with our mother. Relax in peace, Corrie.”

Since then, only days before his death, pictures showing the Funfair employee on a journey were published.

Summer City Funfairs also made a statement to Facebook on Sunday, confirming the death of a “very popular colleague”.

They said: “One of our loved ones was broken on Saturday, August 23, 2025 after a tragic accident in the Spanish city Funfair to share that he died.

“Our team is like a family and we are all deeply affected by this loss.

“As a sign of respect, the Spanish city Funfair will remain closed this weekend, we will spend time to mourn together.

“We want your understanding from you and our thoughts and love with this sad time with his family and friends.”

Northumbria police spokesman said: “Shortly after yesterday at 14.15, we reported that a man was injured in a workplace accident in the Spanish City Summer Funfair, the Spanish City of Whitley in the North Tyneside.

“Emergency services participated and a man in his 20s was found to have a serious head trauma.

“Shortly after, despite the best efforts of the health personnel participating in the scene, the man was unfortunately declared dead.

“Our thoughts are with the man’s family in this extremely difficult time.”

Police directed the case to the Health and Safety Manager (HSE) to determine the facts surrounding the incident.

North East Ambulance Service, together with the Great North Air Ambulance service, joined an out -of -duty doctor who is trying to save the man’s life.

A spokesman said: “In this afternoon at 14:13, we received a call for a seriously injured person’s reports on a funfair journey near the Spanish city in the Gulf of Whitley.

“We sent a quick response medical officer, clinical team leader, an emergency ambulance team and air ambulance.

“An out -of -duty doctor also supported the patient.”
