Major restaurant chains offer free meals for veterans on Veterans Day

Many major restaurant and cafe chains are offering free meals, drinks or buy-one-get-one-free deals specifically for veterans and active service members this Veterans Day.

Below is a look at some of the more notable restaurants and businesses offering Veterans Day deals.

All offers require military identification unless stated otherwise.

Applebee’s

Applebee’s is offering select entrees from a limited menu free of charge throughout the day to all veterans or active-duty military members.

This is the 18th consecutive year that Applebee’s has offered Veterans Day deals, according to the company’s website.

Buffalo Wild Wings

Military members past and present can enjoy 10 free boneless wings and an order of free fries.

Offer valid for walk-up orders when visiting a Buffalo Wild Wings Go location.

California Pizza Kitchen

All veterans or active-duty military who visit California Pizza Kitchen will receive a complimentary beverage and an entrée from a limited menu.

Beverage options include Coca-Cola fountain drinks, iced tea, or unsweetened passion fruit mango iced tea.

Entree options include a choice of four full-size salads (Original BBQ Chicken Chopped Salad, Thai Crunch, Classic Caesar, or Italian Chopped), six pizzas (Original BBQ Chicken Pizza, Hawaiian, Mushroom Pepper Sausage, Pepperoni, Five Cheese + Fresh Tomatoes, or Traditional Cheese) or three pastas (Garlic Creamy Fettucine with Chicken, Kung Pao Spaghetti with Chicken, or Bolognese Spaghetti).

Veterans and active-duty military can receive a free meal and soft drink from a limited menu at all participating Chili locations.

The campaign is only valid for dine-in customers.

Chipotle Mexican Grill

Customers who visit Chipotle Mexican Grill locations between 4pm and 8pm can purchase one entree and receive a second entree of the same or lesser value for free.

“We are honored to serve those who serve our country.”

“As a small token of our gratitude, we invite veterans and the military community to share a meal with someone they care about this Veterans Day,” Chris Brandt, Chipotle’s president and chief brand officer, said in a press release. he said.

“Their courage and determination inspire us every day, and we are honored to serve those who serve our country.”

The offer is valid for customers who dine in at all Chipotle locations nationwide.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

All veterans and active duty military can stop by the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store throughout the day to pick up the free Sunrise Pancake Special.

“At Cracker Barrel, we believe sharing a hot, delicious meal is one of the simplest yet most sincere ways to say ‘Thank you,'” Sarah Moore, Cracker Barrel’s chief marketing officer, said in a statement. he said.

“We are grateful for the chance to share a meal and a moment of connection with veterans and active-duty service members from across the country this Veterans Day.”

The Sunrise Pancake Special comes with two buttermilk pancakes and a choice of eggs or delicious breakfast meat.

But this doesn’t just apply to breakfast. This offer is valid for all-day dining customers.

Denny’s

Denny’s also delivers breakfast pancakes to veterans and active duty military.

The original Grand Slam is available from 5 a.m. to noon at all participating Denny’s locations nationwide.

It comes with two buttermilk pancakes, two slices of bacon, two sausage links and two eggs cooked to order.

Golden Corral

Golden Corral will host veterans, current military and National Guard members for a complimentary buffet dinner from 4 p.m. until closing.

The Military Appreciation Night event is now in its 25th year and has served nearly 6.7 million meals since 2001, according to Golden Corral’s website.

Hy-Vee

If you don’t have time for a sit-down meal, Hy-Vee may be the best place to fill up.

A free open buffet breakfast will be offered to all veterans and active-duty soldiers between 6-10 in the morning.

Active and retired military can also receive a 15% discount on their purchases from Hy-Vee.

Hy-Vee has been delivering breakfast to veterans since 1999.

IHOP

Veterans can enjoy a patriotic meal thanks to IHOP’s Red, White and Blueberry Pancake Combo.

Blueberry pancakes are served with two eggs, hash browns, and a choice between two slices of bacon or a pair of sausage links.

IHOP will welcome veterans to its free meal deal from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at participating locations.

Krispy Kreme

Veterans and active military can get free coffee and donuts from Krispy Kreme.

Offer valid for a free small hot or iced coffee and donut option inside or at the drive-thru window.

A complimentary 3-course Australian meal awaits all current and former military members at Outback Steakhouse.

The meal comes with a choice of soup or salad as a starter, a select entrée, and a New York-Style Cheese Steak for dessert.

Shake Shack

Active duty military personnel and veterans can stop by Shake Shack to get a free burger.

The Big Shack consists of two quarter-pound beef patties, Shake Shack’s secret sauce, lettuce, American cheese, thick-cut pickles, onions and Roma tomatoes on three buttered and toasted potato buns.

Deal valid only at participating Shake Shack locations, excluding airports, stadiums, arenas, travel plazas and museums.

Starbucks

Veterans, military service members and their spouses will be able to pick up a free cup of coffee at participating Starbucks locations nationwide.

Veterans and active duty military can get a free Red’s Big Tavern Burger from Red Robin all day long.

Whataburger isn’t just giving free Taquito to current and retired military during breakfast hours on Veterans Day.

The Texas-based burger chain announced that it will be giving away a free Taquito every Tuesday until the end of the year.
