Ramesh Chennithala alleges massive irregularities in Anert solar projects, demands audit and probe by Assembly panel

Senior Congress Leader Ramesh Cennithala claimed great irregularities in the implementation of solar energy projects by the new and renewable energy research and technology agency (ANERT) for the smart city project in Thiruvananthapuram.

In the last five years, Mr. Cennithala demanded a simultaneous investigation of the judicial audit of Anert’s finance and a committee of the Kerala State Legislative Assembly to reveal corruption.

The authority said that irregularities are widespread in solar projects implemented for the ThiruvanantHapuram Smart City project, which is completely centralized by anert. It showed the situations in the implementation of solar energy projects with a comparable capacity through different private companies.

In the Technical Education Directorate, it costs 38.39 Lakh to implement a 60 kW solar project, while the cost of the Land and Disaster Management Institute after eight months is only 25.2 Lakh, La 13.19 Lakh Difference, La 13.19 Lakh. Similarly, a project of 50 kW was implemented at the cost of 33.31 lakh at the Ministry of Public Works in Vikas Bhavan. However, a system of 50 kW placed in the directorate of the courses cost only 19.06 Lakh, the difference is La 14.25 Lakh. Cennithala said that Anert has implemented 514 projects for the Smart City project in the last two years.

Cennithala said that these financial inconsistencies can also be clearly seen in the implementation of the establishment of solar pumps under the pm vomit plan. While a 10 kW solar facility was installed in the Family Health Center, Vizhinjam costs the cost of pm kusum ₹ 7.13 Lakh cost with a ten -year warranty period with a ten -year warranty period. In the second example, the warranty is seven years.

Irregularities in Appointments

Mr. Cennithala also claimed irregularities in some appointments connected to Anert. A former executive assistant of Narendra Nath Veluri, CEO of ANERTT, was employed by a great advisor of Anert with a very high salary, but the next day he was re -appointed to Anert. Cennithala, who presented documents, said that the officer had left Anert on April 4, 2025, but was deployed as a part of the advisor team on April 5 and was extremely ethical and suspicious.

Mr. Cennithala accused the Electrical Minister K. Krishnankutty of holding his hand in irregularities. Mr. Cennithala demanded a statement from the Minister about his allegations.

Mr. Krishnankutty was not available to comment on Mr. Cennithala’s charges.

At the beginning of this month, Mr. Cennithala requested an investigation into the irregularities in the La 240 Crore tender for the installation of solar pumps within the scope of PM vomit scheme.
