Randwick races postponed after heavy overnight rain

Missile Stakes, the first group race of the season at NSW, was washed after the meeting at Randwick on Saturday.

The group was the only feature of the program, which was abandoned early in the morning after 25 mm rain of more than 2 1200m and on Saturday. This meant that the course was 87 mm last week and 174 mm in the last 30 days.

Considering the more rain forecasts throughout the day, the commissioners called for a call immediately after 7.30.

“We’ve bought more than 45 mm since nine o’clock last night,” said Racing NSW Chief Tom Moxon Sky Racing.

“We did a runway just before six o’clock this morning, and the feedback from the riders was as heavy as possible at that point, but we didn’t need more rain and unfortunately fell shortly after the rain.

“There are some parts of the surface water of the runway. Even though we are sure that the surface water will disappear without rain during the morning, unfortunately we do not have this guess.

“We will definitely need to improve, and unfortunately we do not have these estimates to give us confidence that we can go through the meeting today.”

Instead of re -planning the $ 300,000 missile shares, Racing NSW officials increased the prize money for two races next Saturday.

A comparison of $ 160,000 was rewarded for a prize money of $ 200,000 compared to 88, 94. Spring preview of $ 160,000 from 1400 meters was increased to $ 200,000.
