Man charged over allegedly posing as admiral at Remembrance Sunday event

A man has been charged for allegedly impersonating a British military officer during a Remembrance Sunday event.
North Wales Police said a man was arrested on Friday after he was seen wearing the “uniform and medals of a high-ranking Navy officer” during a wreath-laying ceremony in Llandudno, Conwy, on Sunday (November 9).
Jonathan Carley, 64, of Harlech, Gwynedd, was charged with wearing uniform and dress bearing the insignia of Her Majesty’s Forces without permission.
He is expected to appear at Caernarfon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday. To North Wales Police.
Chief Inspector Trystan Bevan said: “We understand that this incident has caused serious public concern, particularly given that it occurred on Remembrance Sunday.
“In response to reports made to North Wales Police, officers responded quickly to make arrests and progress charges.
“We urge the public to refrain from online speculation and refrain from sharing any content that could jeopardize future court proceedings.”
