Trump Says He Heard India Will Stop Buying Russian Oil, Calls It ‘Good Step’ | World News

The United States President Donald Trump said that on Friday heard that India could no longer get oil from Russia and call it a “good step”. However, Trump admitted that he was not sure of the accuracy of the information.
Trump’s words come after the United States has recently brought India’s 25% tariff to Indian exports, along with India’s Russia, which has not been an additional ‘punishment’ about oil and defense imports from Russia.
“I understand that India will no longer buy oil from Russia. I have heard, I don’t know if it is true. This is a good step. He said.
In response, India defended energy decisions, saying that it was directed according to national interest and global market conditions. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA) said India’s oil purchases are directed by the market conditions and the best for the country. The government also said that any Indian oil company has no information about stopping imports from Russia.
In the early hours of Friday, Mea spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said that some Indian oil companies stopped buying oil from Russia, he said that India clearly revealed his approach on the issue.
“You are aware of our extensive approach to energy resource requirements, what is available in the market and we are looking at the dominant global situation. We are not aware of any feature.” He said.
Jaiswal’s comments came after a series of statements from the US, including President Donald Trump and Foreign Minister Marco Rubio, and criticized India for importing discounted Russian oil despite Western Sanctions on the Ukraine War.
In front of India-US vineyards, the new Delhi on Friday expressed his confidence that his relationship with the United States will continue to progress and will continue to focus on the important agenda that the two countries are determined.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Trump announced that Indian goods were sentenced to 25 percent tariff and the penalty for importing Russian oil, but otherwise he hope for a temporary Indian-US trade that would help prevent high tariffs.
