Real picture of Maharashtra rain fury to come by Oct 5, will try to give aid before Diwali: Minister

Maharashtra Revenue Minister ChandraShekhar Bawancule showed that farmers affected by excessive rainfall and floods in the state could receive compensation before Diwali.

“The real picture of the damage caused by the floods will be presented until October 5th. We will definitely try to give farmers financial aid before the Diwali season. There is enough administrative provision to help farmers.”

The Diwali period begins with Dhanteras on 18 October and continued on October 23 until Bhai Dooj.
In addition, farmers seek higher assistance, the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) norms within the scope of norms will not be enough, he said.

The government government will take steps to ensure that farmers take more than the NDRF envisaged.
