‘Real Time’: Marjorie Taylor Greene Says “I Completely Support” Don Lemon’s Arrest: “That’s Not Journalism”

In Friday’s episode Real Time with Bill Maher“I fully support his arrest,” the politician said after Lemon’s indictment on Thursday. We’re watching the anti-ICE protest at a church in Minneapolis earlier this month.

“Well, I will say you violated the FACE Act,” he told Maher. “He went to church, disrupted their services, and later compared them to white supremacists in an interview. This isn’t journalism, it’s activism.”
Greene added, “So I don’t think this is journalism. This is not the first amendment, going into the middle church and harassing people. And Don Lemon came into my office with the ‘Tesla Takedown’ guy who organized this, and we had to call the Capitol Police.”
“There’s no question that the purpose of this is to intimidate other reporters, to scare other journalists from reporting on ICE’s ongoing acts of public violence,” said fellow panelist Joe Scarborough.

“I think it’s ridiculous to disrupt the church,” Greene said. “I think Christians should not be harassed in the church, especially by activists and journalists.”
On Friday, Lemon was released from custody on cashless bail and then thanked everyone outside the Los Angeles courthouse for their support.
“I’ve spent my entire career following the news. I’m not going to stop now,” Lemon said. “In fact, there is no more important time than now for a free and independent media that sheds light on the facts and holds governments accountable.”
