Record amount of dangerous driver footage handed to police by cyclists
Images of those who are caught by helmets and cycling cameras are sent to the police with record numbers.
The data obtained by Iam Roadsmart, a road security, revealed that 15,779 clip was presented to the police forces in England and Wales last year.
This is more than twice the 7,249 presentations in 2021. Many cyclists use camera to record their journeys, and the basic models are available below £ 50.

Between 2019 and 2023, most cyclists occur in collisions with a car.
IAM Roadsmart launched more close call campaigns aimed at eliminating close transitions.
Hernando said: ın When passing a cyclist, always look beyond them to judge your ability to pass safely, leave at least 1.5 meters when overtaking up to 30Mph, and give them more space when overtaking at higher speeds.
“By pulling back the length of two or three cars, you can seek more ways and seek approaching traffic.
“If it is not safe to overcome, do not try to get stuck in the past – a few seconds of your journey is not worth taking someone’s life.”
Duncan Dollimore, Head of Cycling UK Campaigns, said that he did not see the big security effect we hoped for ği providing more protection to cyclists from the changes in the road code in 2022.
