Knicks forward Jeremy Sochan can’t lose the NBA Finals after playing for both remaining teams

There is an ageless saying that claims that it is always better to be lucky than to be talented.

Any guy who’s currently punching well above his weight class with a cute girlfriend knows this fact intuitively. But right now, New York Knicks forward Jeremy Sochan understands this better than anyone in the basketball world.

The 23-year-old forward is currently a member of the Knicks and provides “energy” off the bench; So it doesn’t do much. But his extremely fortunate position goes far beyond helping a brutal New York team reach the NBA Finals.

The actual lottery win stems directly from the unique circumstances of the roster journey in the 2025-26 season.

And whoever wins the Finals, Sochan walks away with “NBA champion” added to his Wikipedia page.

Sochan started the year with the San Antonio Spurs, who selected him in the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft.

As he featured in both organizations throughout the season, Sochan effectively secured one of the league’s most extraordinary safety nets.

If San Antonio prevails, per league tradition, the Spurs will continue to award him championship jewelry for his contributions early in the season.
