Reform have this 1 trump card to play when it comes to local elections | Politics | News

Richard Tice has a trump card to play when it comes to local government. The Reform shadow deputy Prime Minister and shadow business minister, who is leading Reform’s efforts to tackle local council waste, has dodged criticism that Reform has failed to find the savings it had hoped for and has at times had to raise local taxes.
But the only reason this was needed was the deplorable state of local government finances. So why? Poor management of the Labor-Conservative party. For this reason!
For starters, the Conservatives have allowed unchecked excessive spending to meet the cost of growing educational needs such as SEND. Meanwhile, some Labor councils have investments and therefore risky auditors do not even sign off on the investments. Things are so bad in Warrington that CCTV is being switched off to save a few bucks.
It is far better for Reform to reluctantly raise local taxes to avoid the collapse of currently Reform-led councils; This is something that will haunt Reform when it asserts itself as ready for national leadership.
Ultimately, despite Labour-Conservative sneering about Reform abolishing taxes, Reform and Tice have a trump card: it was made necessary thanks to disastrous mismanagement at local level by the Conservatives and the equally hapless Labor parties, all of whom happened to be overseen by their own national party while in office.
As the local elections in May approached, these elections could only be held again thanks to Reform’s legal struggle. Nigel Farage and Richard Tice have the biggest trump card. Yes, they would love to lower taxes locally and nationally. But no, it’s not impossible right now, thanks to the incompetent leadership of Labor and the Conservatives.
Far from being a modest U-turn, this is the biggest trump card for Reform and Tice!
