Former Jill Biden ex-husband arrested in wife’s murder

William Stevenson, the reported ex-husband of former First Lady Jill Biden, has been arrested and charged with murdering his current wife, authorities said Tuesday.

New Castle County Police in Delaware said Stevenson, 77, was taken into custody Monday and charged with first-degree murder in the death of Linda Stevenson.

At the time, authorities said officers were called to a home on Dec. 28 for a domestic dispute where they found Linda Stevenson unresponsive.

Following his death, his body was turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Sciences for autopsy.

Authorities did not give a cause of death Tuesday.

Police said Stevenson was arrested after “an extensive investigation that lasted several weeks”.

A grand jury indicted Stevenson on Monday. He was taken to Howard Young Correctional Facility after failing to post $500,000.00 cash bail.

Fox News Digital reached out to Joe and Jill Biden’s office, but they did not immediately respond.

The former First Lady married Stevenson, who attended the University of Delaware, in 1970 when she was 18, and according to reports, Stevenson was 23.

The couple was married for five years before divorcing. She eventually married then-Senator Joe Biden.
