Reid wonders if Vance will leave Hindu wife to appease MAGA base

Former MSNBC host Joy Reid wondered on her “I Did It” podcast whether Vice President J.D. Vance plans to find a new spouse who will appeal to his MAGA base because he is Indian American.
Reid suggested that Vance might not be President Donald Trump’s heir apparent in 2028 because MAGA supporters won’t accept someone like Usha Vance as First Lady.
“MAGA’s successor cannot be the man with a Brown Hindu wife” he said Vance’s. “They’re Christian nationalists too. This won’t work. So he throws his wife under the bus. Poor Usha. Or she’s in on it too.”

“Playing slap and tickle with Erika Kirk is the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen,” said “I Did It” co-host Jennifer Welch. “It’s like the Tammy Faye era.”
“He’s holding the back of his head and rubbing his head,” Reid said in surprise, adding that he would be suspicious of a woman holding her husband that way. Erika Kirk hugged vice president at a Turning Point event last month.
“You’re not doing the right thing. [You’re] Reid said of Erika Kirk, “You’re supposed to be a widow, are you wearing leather pants?” he said. “This is not a widow’s outfit.”

Reid appeared to suggest that Vance leaving his current wife for Erika Kirk would be a strategic political move to solidify the MAGA bases around him.
“If she finally saw the light that she needed a White queen instead of this Brown Hindu, wouldn’t this be the most perfect fairy tale, the MAGA tale?” he asked. “So I’m not saying that’s the way it is or maybe Usha isn’t involved.”

Reid’s show was canceled in February by progressive cable channel MSNBC, which changed its name to MS NOW earlier this month. The host on the far left now hosts “The Joy Reid Show” on YouTube.
