Republican Rep. Randy Fine of Florida said he would introduce legislation banning welfare for noncitizens.

While U.S. citizenship is a constitutional requirement to serve in Congress, Fine recently introduced a separate bill that would ban individuals with dual or foreign citizenship from being elected to federal office.

Fine, who previously served in the Florida state legislature, was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives earlier this year after winning a special election.
Then-President-elect Donald Trump endorsed Fine in November, writing on Truth Social: “Randy Fine has my Total and Complete Endorsement if he decides to enter this Race. RUN, RANDY, RUN!”
