Ex-Tory minister Ed Vaizey vents frustrations about failing to lose pounds on weight-loss jabs Mounjaro and Wegovy
Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick became a British political poster child for weight loss Jabs, while one of his former colleagues was less impressed.
Former cultural minister said Independent Although hundreds of thousands of people get weight loss jabs, in his experience, “Absolutely a miracle is not a drug”- However, he admitted that he could take other measures to help him lose weight.
“My doubt, ‘I buy this medicine, I am injecting, I should do the whole job,’ I think I’m a typical man. But if I stopped drinking and made a reasonable diet, it would probably help me lose weight faster than I did as a diet.” he said.
The intervention comes after NHS began to use weight loss jabs to combat the obesity crisis in the UK.
Lord Preacher, who lost a total of around a stone, says that his healthy weight is about 13 stones and when he decided to take action, he admitted that he was “about two stones overweight”.
Westminster put this excess weight during the Covid, which he said was no longer won and resting on the lunch track, and put it back when the locking ended. Ultimately, his desire to return to shape took him to his weight loss jabs.
He said: “First I went to Wegovy, then Mounjaro. Wegovy certainly cheated.”
However, his experience with Mounjaro was not so successful that he began to use after a break of about nine months when my weight began to crawl again ”.
“He helped to download, but now I’m stuck in about 14th lb, which I see as I was about the stone.
“Absolutely reduces your appetite a little bit; I definitely feel more full in dinner times. But I was stuck in 14th 10lb – I won’t get me lower.
“It doesn’t look right and I was at a maximum dose at some point. I still use it, because I think my weight will crawl again if I stop using it.”
While eating less, he says that the jabs did not leave her love for desserts or “a bottle of wine did not sink”.
“I have zero side effects and as I think it protects me in a stable weight, I am happy to continue using it, but I think I’m sure I should be a little more disciplined if I really want to lose weight.
“I am quite happy to go for dinner and sink a bottle of wine. I am quite happy to drink dessert for dinner.
However, friends told Lord Vaizey that he was looking for more flooring.
“People absolutely comment. I had a dinner with a friend I haven’t seen for a while last night and said, ‘You look like you have lost weight. You look really healthy. People look very healthy to me.
“But I read the stories about people who bought Wegovy and shed four stones, but that didn’t happen to me.”
