Reservoirs in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema are 85.49% Full

Visakhapatnam: The reservoirs and water bodies on the coast of Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema received good entries after heavy rains in some parts of Andhra Pradesh in August.
According to sources, as in September 7, the main and middle reservoirs of the AP filled 85.49 percent of its total capacity. Total water storage at full reservoir level (FRL) is 1.105.85 TMC Feet. As of Sunday, September 7, 2025, storage reached 945,44 TMC Feet on the same day of the previous year until 832.87 TMC Feet (2024).
According to the Andhra Pradesh Water Resources Information and Management System (APWRIMS), the main reservoirs of the state’s FRL Store 893.17 TMC Feet, medium reservoirs 52.28 TMC feet. General flood pillow – the current area to absorb the inputs is 160.42 TMC Feet.
The data says that 659.76 TMC Feet (94.87 percent) is storage against the 695.45 TMC Feet gross capacity of the Krishna River basin in the province. The godavari river basin storage area is 18.27 TMC Feet, 68.42 percent of the 26.71 TMC Feet gross capacity. Storage in the Pennar River basin rose to 212.91 TMC Feet, 72.44 percent of the 293.89 TMC Feet gross capacity. The other basins hold 54.5 TMC feet with 60.6 percent of their gross capacity.
Many parts of the state witnessed dry spells in the first half of the southwest monsoon (June and July). However, intense low -pressure systems on the Gulf of Bengal and several upper air circulation in August resulted in excessive rainfall in the first months.
The levels of the state’s reservoirs are expected to heal further, the Indian Meteorological Department estimates that another low pressure pressure will occur on Bengal in the second week of September. It can trigger heavy rains in various parts of the state.
Water resources officials say that they balance the supply of drinking water with irrigation requirements and follow the flood security.
Farmers in Andhra Pradesh completed various crops in 22.12 Lakh hectares compared to a total of 31.16 Lakh hectares at the end of August in the ongoing Kharif 2025 season.
