Resurvey To Be Completed In One Year: Atchannaidu

Visakhapatnam: Agriculture Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu on Friday said the state government will complete the land survey process within a year as directed by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Addressing a revenue gram sabha at Akkayyavalasa in Kotabommali mandal of Srikakulam district, the minister said the previous government had “completely damaged” the revenue system, with the result that nearly 90 per cent of petitions in Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) meetings were related to land issues.

He said thousands of farmers were left in a difficult situation due to errors in the previous research. “The district collector and I sat together and resolved nearly 4,000 survey-related issues in a single day,” he said.

Atchannaidu distributed pattadar passbooks to farmers and assured them that errors in the new passbooks will be corrected immediately. He said the new passbooks will bear the government emblem and will be printed using advanced technology in Chennai.

“These passport-like passbooks will be delivered to farmers’ homes. Land details can be accessed instantly by scanning the QR code. When a third party scans it, the land owner will receive an alert on his mobile phone,” he said.

On the government’s allegations of land grabbing in Tekkali, the minister said strict sanctions would be taken against those involved.
