Revanth Reddy Indulging in Muslim Appeasement During Bypoll Campaign: Telangana BJP Chief

Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao on Thursday alleged that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was trying to appease Muslims to win the votes of the community in the November 11 general election in Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency here.
He claimed that Revanth Reddy, who also wore a hat, had become “Revanth Uddin” for the sake of 20 per cent votes of Muslims during his campaign.
“It is clear that Reddy’s comments are vote bank politics. He says Muslims get respect because of Congress. Congress has not guaranteed respect to Muslims. In fact, Congress is undermining respect by treating Muslims as vote bank. It matters whether Congress provides education, medical facilities, livelihood opportunities and housing to Muslims,” Rao told PTI Video. he said.
He claimed that BRS was also following the same policies and both parties were ignoring 80 per cent Hindus for the sake of 20 per cent Muslim votes.
Addressing a campaign rally here on Thursday, the CM criticized Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy for opposing the recent induction of former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin into the Council of Ministers.
Kishan Reddy had asked what would be the problem if a leader belonging to minorities became a minister.
Revanth Reddy had said, “The Congress government provided a lot of opportunities to the minorities. It was only the Congress that gave major tasks to the minorities. Congress means Muslims and Muslims means Congress.”
The by-poll was necessary due to the death of BRS MLA Maganti Gopinath after a heart attack in June this year.
While the BJP has nominated Deepak Reddy, Gopinath’s widow Sunita is the BRS candidate. The ruling Congress’ candidate is also supported by AIMIM led by Asaduddin Owaisi.
