According to 4 officials, the Election Commission has taken MAJOR action following the unrest in Bihar’s Mokama district following the murder of a Jan Suraj Party supporter. The Election Commission of India has ordered disciplinary action against SDO Barh Chandan Kumar and Barh-2 SDPO Rakesh Kumar and suspended SDPO Barh-2 Abhishek Singh in connection with 178-Mokama Assembly Constituency. As reported by ANI, the Commission ordered the transfer of Patna Police Inspector (Rural) Vikram Sihag.

Earlier, the EC sought a detailed report from both the District Election Officer and Bihar Director General of Police regarding the murder of Jan Suraj Party supporter Dular Chand Yadav in Mokama, Patna. Tension increased in the constituency after stones were pelted at Veena Devi, the RJD candidate from this constituency.
