Revised Maharashtra special public security Bill likely to be tabled in Assembly today

The Maharashtra government is likely to introduce a review of a special public security bill, which aims to prevent the ‘left -wing pro -excessive organizations’ in Parliament on Thursday.
State Revenue Minister Chandrashekar Bawancule submitted the joint election committee report on the bill on Wednesday.
“We have brought clarity to the bill aiming to solve the illegal activities of left -wing individuals and groups, Bak Bawankule said.
Maharashtra Special Public Security Law was introduced on December 2024 at the Winter Session of the Assembly. The bill was later directed to the Joint Election Committee. The Committee of 14 MLA and the Seven MLC included leading opposition leaders such as Jitendra Awhad, Nana Patole, Jayant Patil, Vijay Waddettiwar and Satej Bunty Patil.
“The report was accepted unanimously with changes in the original invoice. There is no single opposition rating by any of the opposition members.” He said.
Mr. Bawancule, who chaired the committee, said that the panel came together five times and reviewed 12,500 suggestions from the public. The Minister said that the proposals of the opposition members in the committee were also accepted.
‘Targeting direct funding’
A senior minister, a part of the committee, announced that the revised invoice aims to finance directly for the ‘left wing groups’. “No political party or political organization, Morchas or a protest will not take. The bill is directly about financing to encourage the ‘left -wing extremist organizations’.” He said.
In the bill, the regional peace judges or members of the Supreme Government of the Supreme Government with the pleadors of a sitting or a retired Supreme Court of Justice under the chairmanship of a ‘Advisory Board’ provision, he said.
The bill requires that the investigations in the CT to be carried out by an officer not under the rank of the Deputy Inspector.
Income Minister said the government aims to cross the bill to prevent the government from being affected by the Naxalit movement.
Prime Minister Devendra said Fadnavis had reviewed the draft of the bill on Monday.
