Ricki Lake admits impulsive facelift decision without research

Ricki Lake is candid about going under the knife; She admits that the decision to have a facelift wasn’t planned very carefully.

“I didn’t do any research when I very impulsively decided to get my face done,” Lake said. “Internal Arrangement” podcast.

“I met him at the next available time [appointment]. I had my consultation and made the next available appointment. So it was in the middle of June. I made a reservation for July 18th. “I never looked back.”

The former talk show host said the sudden move came after a dramatic weight loss that left her dealing with excess skin.

“I had just lost 40 pounds and had this sagging,” he said, pointing to the area under his chin. “I didn’t like what I saw or wanted to look younger. My hair went gray. It’s not about that. It’s like I had an extension that wouldn’t grow back, wouldn’t grow back.”

The “Hairspray” star framed the choice as practical, but it was seeing a friend’s dramatic transformation up close that sealed the deal.

“I saw him eight days after his surgery, and not only did he look great, he was enthusiastic. He was like a different person; he was on top of the world, and I said, ‘I’m going to have what he’s having.'”

Despite the lack of research, results and recovery exceed expectations, Lake said.

“I recovered very quickly. Two weeks after my surgery, I hosted an event at the Academy Museum. I looked flawless. Flawless.”

This isn’t the first time Lake has publicly announced that she’s changing her appearance.

Last June, she sought plastic surgery following a dramatic weight loss transformation after appearing on “Watch What Happens Live” with host Andy Cohen.

After I had a frank conversation with her about her hair loss, she said, “I’ve had it too, and I’ll explain it to you.” [although] I told others too. “I had a lower face and neck lift surgery.”

Lake lifted her hands under her chin to emphasize her jawline, as Cohen continued to praise her appearance and said she looked “very good.”
