Rightwing Dutch activist banned from UK

A Dutch right-wing activist and commentator who spoke at events with Tommy Robinson has been banned from entering the UK, The Independent has learned.

Eva Vlaardingerbroek announced on X that she had received an email from the UK government informing her that her right to enter the UK had been withdrawn.

A screenshot of what appeared to be an email posted on social media said her presence in the UK was “not considered to be in the public interest”.

This comes just days after Ms Vlaardingerbroek published on January 9 that Sir Keir Starmer had authorized the “continued rape and murder of British girls by immigrant rape gangs”.

He also attacked the prime minister for threatening to block X in the UK due to outrage sparked by the platform’s Grok AI tool that allows the sexualisation of children and women.

A source from the Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed that the electronic travel authorization (ETA) had been withdrawn, but a reason was not given.

Ms. Vlaardingerbroek said Independent He said he did not plan to return to the UK until after local and devolved elections in May.

But he had “suddenly” received an email withdrawing his ETA because “his presence in the UK was not considered to be in the public interest.”

On his account, X shared a screenshot of what appeared to be an email from the Ministry of Internal Affairs showing that the ETA had been cancelled.

Ms Vlaardingerbroek, who was the last person to speak at a massive UK rally led by far-right activist Tommy Robinson, had sided with Mr Musk in the debate after accusing the UK government of acting like “fascists”.

The right-wing Dutch political campaigner has made a name for himself as a shrill voice questioning vaccines and lockdowns during the Covid pandemic and has strong ties to the MAGA movement in the UK and the Trump administration.

He has been described as “far-right” by critics for the language he uses on issues such as immigration.

The ban is likely to worsen “free speech” issues between the UK and Donald Trump’s administration, with Ms Vlaardingerbroek remaining a popular figure among the MAGA movement and the US president’s allies.

Sir Keir Starmer is pushing Ofcom to take action against X after the Grok AI tool was used to sexualize women and children on the social media platform.

He attributed his ban to an online attack on the prime minister for opposing Mr Musk over Grok.

He cited problems in the UK with gangs grooming Asian men who target white girls; This was also highlighted by Mr Musk, who said the Prime Minister was initially reluctant to hold a national inquiry into the scandal before making a U-turn.

He said: “It was about Grok regulations as an excuse for why he thought a ban would be a good idea, and him saying he wanted to ban X because of women’s safety.

“I said that was a really rich thing to do, given that the British have a really bad record of dealing with immigrant gangs who rape girls.

“So it’s very interesting that this man now seems to care about women’s safety and suddenly he doesn’t have his priorities straight. And I said he was a vile, bad man.”
