Rivian plans to lay off more than 600 workers

DETROIT – Rivian Automotive The all-electric vehicle maker is reportedly planning to cut more than 600 jobs as it faces growing market challenges.
Wall StreetJournal, First I reported the plans, The layoffs will affect about 4% of the company’s employees, he said. Rivian had just under 15,000 employees at the end of last year.
A source familiar with the plans confirmed the layoffs to CNBC and said additional details would be shared with employees on Thursday.
Rivian and other electric vehicle makers face a tougher market than in recent years due to changing regulations under the Trump administration, including the elimination of the $7,500 federal incentive for purchasing electric vehicles.
