Robert Irwin prefers crocodiles over LA traffic after Dancing with the Stars

Robert Irwin was “terrified” of Los Angeles after competing on “Dancing with the Stars” and couldn’t wait to return to his native Australia.
During an interview with Fox News Digital at NFL Honors, Irwin admitted that he could beat an alligator in Los Angeles traffic at any time.
“Oh my God! I learned to drive in America; it was my first time driving on that side of the road in Los Angeles. That was the scariest part of the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ experience… being on the road in Los Angeles,” Irwin said.

Irwin, who won the 34th season of “Dancing with the Stars,” admitted that she loves the support she receives from fans in America, but her heart will always be in Australia.

“Well, I guess the thing is, I grew up in the Australian wilderness. Being in the Los Angeles atmosphere was incredibly different,” Irwin said. “But it was also really amazing because I felt so much support from all over America and it was a great feeling.”

She continued, “I was excited to be back home, but at the same time, you know, it’s just as nice to be back in the States to see my friends from ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and it’s all really special. But Australia will always be where my heart is and Australia will always be where I come back to.”

Irwin said last month: Western Australia He’s “not a city kid” after spending months in California for his dance competition show.

“It’s been great being in Los Angeles for the last three months but I’m not a city kid. I live in the bush and grew up there, so it’s nice to be back where there’s some greenery,” he told a television station in January.
Robert grew up in Australia with his mother Terri and sister Bindi. The family is following in the footsteps of their late father, Steve Irwin, and keeping his work alive at the Australia Zoo. Steve died in 2006 after being stung by a stingray at Batt Reef off the coast of Australia.

Irwin returns to America for the 2026 Super Bowl. Speaking to Fox News Digital ahead of the game, Irwin explained why he brought a plus snake for the event.

“You know, it’s actually always been my dream to come and watch the Super Bowl. So when they said you should come out and experience it, I was like, ‘Oh, 100%,’ but I had to bring a snake with me,” Irwin said. “I mean, it kind of made sense.”
