Robot goes BERSERK at a restaurant in California as desperate staff try to drag it away from customers – as one viewer asks ‘why isn’t there a big red power off button?’

This is the shocking moment a dancing robot went berserk in a restaurant, blowing up food as staff tried to drag it away.
While customers at the Haidilao hot pot restaurant in San Jose, California, were enjoying their meals, a humanoid started showing some movements.
The robot suddenly slams its hands on the table while performing a dance routine that involves waving its arms and swaying its hips.
This sends chopsticks and bright yellow sauce flying into the air as the staff races to cover it.
However, the humanoid continues to dance throughout the fight, where three employees wrestle the robot and try to drag it away by the back of its neck.
The clip went viral online and many people found the glitch funny.
One warned that ‘this is how the takeover will start’, while another joked: ‘This adds a new dimension to ‘making robots’.’
But it wasn’t all fun and games, as one concerned viewer noted: ‘All kidding aside, shouldn’t there always be a big red button or kill switch somewhere on the robot?’
The action starts harmlessly enough, with the robot busting out some moves to impress customers.
Everything goes wrong when the robot slams its hands on the table, sending chopsticks flying into the air and prompting staff to intervene. Humanoid continues dancing while being captured
During the chaotic scene, an employee is seen holding the robot by a large handle behind its neck, presumably searching desperately on her phone to find the controls.
Personnel attempting to capture the humanoid had to periodically move out of the way to avoid being struck by the waving hands.
Some of the robot’s movements include placing its hands on its hips, stomping its legs on the ground, and waving its arm up and down in the air.
Luckily, the customers didn’t seem to mind their food being spilled and could be heard laughing hysterically.
The incident appears to be part of a promotional event for Disney’s ‘Zootopia 2’ movie at the restaurant.
The Haidilao chain is run by a company known for investing in automated kitchens with robot chefs and robot meal delivery, according to Chinese business and financial news site Jiemian Global.
One person at X joked that the robot had “no regrets” and “just wanted to dance.”
Another wrote: ‘This is the most human thing a robot has ever done. ‘I hated the job, I made a scene, I don’t regret it.’
Some of the robot’s movements include putting its hands on its hips, stomping its legs on the ground, and waving its arms in the air. A total of three employees had to intervene by grabbing the robot by the neck.
Another said: ‘This is how the Terminator’s timeline actually begins. ‘Not with a bang, but with a boogie.’
Some online commentators have suggested that the humanoid robot is AGIBOT X2, a machine that offers ‘humanoid gait, complex dance routines and coordinated head movements’. Haidilao has been contacted for comment regarding the incident.
This isn’t the first time an out-of-control robot has made headlines this week.
Earlier this week, a humanoid robot that frightened an elderly woman in China was detained by police.
According to local authorities, the 70-year-old woman was startled when she noticed the robot suddenly standing behind her.
In a viral clip, the woman is seen screaming and shaking her purse at the tiny robot, which repeatedly raises its arms in the air.
The footage then shows two police officers escorting Unitree G1 on the road, and one of them guiding the robot by holding its shoulder.
Although the robot was not formally arrested, police removed it from the scene and handed it over to the operator, a man in his 50s, who was reminded to be careful.
