Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli phenomenal in ODIs, should continue if they perform: Sourav Ganguly

KOLKATA: Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly thinks that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli should continue to play ODIs, given the “extraordinary” records in Fifty Overs format.

Reacting to the media reports that the upcoming ODI series in Australia could be the last for the famous duo, Ganguly said he was not aware of such development.


“I’m not aware of this, I can’t comment on it,” he said.
However, Ganguly stressed that performance should be a decisive factor in extending careers.

“Kohli’s one -day record of Kohli said that it was extraordinary, and even Rohit Sharma was extraordinary at the AWL AGRİ Business LTD event. DUO has not been committed to the 2027 World Cup.

The Australian ODI tour of India began on October 19 with the planned matches in Perth, Adelaide and Sydney, and then three houses against South Africa in December.

The 2026 calendar has another competition against the ODI series and New Zealand against the New Zealand, Afghanistan, England, West Indian Islands.

In the T20 Asian Cup in Dubai as of September 9, Ganguly said that the Indian team was favourults and that there was a very needed break after five exhausting tests in the UK.

Ganguly also said that he was ready for a second shot under the direction of Cricket and would be nominated.

Former BCCI president, who was the President of the CAB from mid -2015 to October 2019, added, “If the members wish, he will nominate for the post of the Cab President (for the Post of the CAB President).
