Girl, 3, dies after being struck by car in Caboolture, north of Brisbane

A three-year-old girl has died after being hit by a car north of Brisbane.

Queensland Police said in a statement that a Nissan Navara utility vehicle was turning right from Lynfield Dr onto Toohey Street in Caboolture when it hit the child at about 6.47pm on Tuesday.

The 3-year-old child died at the scene.

The Forensic Accident Unit launched an investigation.

The 49-year-old Caboolture woman who was driving the Nissan at the time is assisting police.

The police statement continues: “Anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage from the time of the incident is asked to contact police.”
