Rosehill training duo Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou confident Harry’s Evidence makes a compelling case at Kembla Grange races

The Rosehill training partnership of Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou will send two horses to Kembla Grange on Tuesday brimming with confidence that they can both acquit themselves well.

Ryan and Alexiou will join Saturday’s Group 1 Circuit Stakes-winning jockey Chad Schofield in the Harry’s Evidence, Your Next Stop Wests Illawarra Class 1 Handicap (1200m); And Jay Ford will link up with the stable as he partners Commanding Artist in the Wests Illawarra Community Strong Benchmark 64 Handicap (1600m).

“These are two good chances for us to go to Kembla,” Ryan said. “Harry’s Evidence broke the maiden well when he started again after his spell at Wyong. He started a short-priced favorite on the day and won easily.

“Then after a spell when he was second he put them ahead at Gosford and although he didn’t qualify he wasn’t too far behind Andrea at the finish.”

Andrea has since been placed with the city company in Canterbury and Harry’s Evidence is ready to return, Ryan said.

“HE [Harry’s Evidence] It’s a tough door to tackle but Chad has to give him every chance and if he can make it to his first run then he should be tough to hold on again,” Ryan said.

Commander Artist has been well into these preparations since following up his victory at the Hawkesbury in December. He has since finished fourth at Beaumont in Newcastle, second at Canterbury and fifth at Warwick Farm. He had lined up second behind at the same track at the Kembla Grange event two weeks earlier.

“He raced quickly at Kembla Grange a few weeks ago and ran very well finishing second behind Satness,” Ryan said.
