King Charles has faced calls to strip Prince Andrew of his “prince” title after Buckingham Palace announced he had lost his remaining titles. Virginia Giuffre’s brother, who claims she was forced to have sex with Andrew, has called on the Royal Family to strip her of her permanent title.
On Sunday, new damaging reports reportedly revealed that Andrew had attempted to obtain personal information about Ms. Giuffre through his police protection officer. Andrew called for Ms Giuffre to be investigated just before the newspaper published a photo of them together, the Mail on Sunday reported. The prince was reportedly “trying to dig up dirt” on Ms. Giuffre, according to The Telegraph.
On Friday, Andrew announced he would give up all his remaining titles after ongoing scandals overshadowed the work of the King and other members of the Royal Family. Andrew will remain Prince, although he will no longer be able to use those titles publicly.
The most well-known title that Andrew will no longer use publicly is Duke of York, as well as a number of official roles including Counselor of State, Knight of the Most Noble Garter and Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order (GCVO).
Prince Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing and denied Virginia Guiffre’s allegations against him.
