Rubio meets Netanyahu to discuss fallout from Qatar strike

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio meets with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem, and last week, Israel’s strike in Qatar is expected to be high on the agenda.

The strike, aiming for senior Hamas leaders in the nearby US allies, suffered international anger and was criticized by President Donald Trump.

Rubio said to journalists before: “Frankly, we are not satisfied with this. The president was not satisfied with this. Now we need to move forward and find out what the next step will be.”

The meeting comes as a summit of Arab leaders’ support for Qatar. The Prime Minister called on the international community to stop implementing “double standards” and punish Israel.

Gulf State hosts a large air base of the USA and played an important role in diplomatic efforts to end the war in Gaza, and served as an intermediary of indirect negotiations between Hamas and Israel.

On Sunday, Netanyahu said that the US-Israeli relationship was “as durable as stones on the western wall”, and that Rubio and Rubio made a short visit to the sacred region in the old city of Jerusalem.

It is also expected to be discussed between the couple, plans to seize the Israeli Military Gaza City and the continuation of the settlements in Israel’s occupied West Bank.

The meeting is expected to recognize the Palestinian province, including the UN General Assembly meeting next week, including England, France, Canada, Australia and Belgium.
