Meghan Markle faced with ‘unthinkable’ dilemma over Prince Harry | Royal | News

Meghan Markle faces an “unthinkable” dilemma over whether to join husband Prince Harry in England this summer, a royal expert has claimed. The Duke of Sussex, who is in England this week for his case against the publisher of the Daily Mail, will return this summer to kick off the one-year event of the Invictus Games in Birmingham in 2027.
Harry’s wife has not set foot in the UK since 2022, when she attended the late Queen’s funeral in London. Now a royal expert has claimed that the Duchess of Sussex’s trip back to the UK will be more or less inevitable and that the whole visit will create a major royal “dilemma” for one important reason.
Veteran royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliam added that a trip from Sussex to England with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet could further strengthen already damaged relations between the two parties.
he said Mirror: “It’s unthinkable that Meghan won’t come to Invictus because it will look like she’s hiding and will be there for Harry no matter what.”
But he added: “The Games are a huge dilemma for the royal family, and it’s a dilemma the Sussexes have created themselves. “As Harry set up the Invictus Games, what happens to it is up to him – although not officially.
“The end of the event coincides with Queen Camilla’s 80th birthday, but that is no reason why Charles cannot open the Games if he wants to, and there is a very good reason for him to do so because he is Head of the Armed Forces and this is a major military charity event.
“But it’s completely unclear how the Royal Family will react now, given the Sussexes have put three nuclear bombs under Buckingham Palace with their Spare, Oprah Winfrey interview and Netflix series.”
But Mr Fitzwilliams added that Harry and Meghan should next appear in the UK with their two children if they want to save their reputation with the royal family and the British public.
He said: “There’s a lot of animosity towards the Sussexes here and if they hope to mend ways with Charles, reuniting with the grandchildren would be an obvious way to do that.
“I don’t think the King will be involved in anything Games-related this summer, but I do think there’s a real possibility he’ll see Harry and his grandchildren, and that probably means seeing Meghan too.”
Charles last saw his grandchildren from across the pond in the summer of 2022, when the Sussexes arrived in England once again for the recent Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
