Flash flood emergency and river rising
NWS issued a flash flood emergency warning that tells people to avoid driving from flood waters, as the current could carry vehicles. According to the Hindustan Times report, the Rio Ruidoso River, passing through the village, rose 20 feet in just 30 minutes during the flood.
A map published by NWS showed areas placed under the Flash flood emergency. Multiple videos showed rapid water increase and destruction in the village. According to the reports, it was not immediately clear that no one was injured.

Ruidoso Village has published on Facebook about the shelter centers to be established for the affected. The list of shelter centers is as follows:
