Assembly elections 2026 LIVE: Ruckus outside counting centre in Mamata’s constituency, TMC claims entry of car with BJP flag

TMC MP Saugata Roy criticized the re-voting in Falta Assembly Constituency and said ‘not happy with the decision’
Trinamool Congress MP Saugata Roy criticized the decision to hold fresh polls in Falta, saying the move was “not a happy decision” and questioned the logic behind isolating a single constituency.
Reacting to this development, Ms Roy said: MOMENT“In our opinion, it is not a happy decision. It is not clear to us why Falta will be isolated and why there will be new elections there…. When the elections are held, we will join them.”
According to the ECI, new voting instructions were issued in Falta “following serious electoral crimes and disruption of the democratic process during the voting in many ballot boxes on April 29.”
Earlier on Saturday, May 3, 2026, the BJP delegation met West Bengal Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Kumar Agarwal. TMC leader Kunal Ghosh visited the Netaji Indoor Stadium, where strong rooms with EVMs are located.
