Russia Launches Record Drone Attack On Ukraine After Trump Pledges More Weapons

KYIV, 9 July (Reuters) – Russia, US President Donald Trump promised to send more defense weapons to Kyiv, shortly after Ukraine targeted Ukraine with a record 728 drone overnight, and Russian President Vladimir Putin targeted unusual criticism.
The Ukraine said that Ukraine air defense units have destroyed almost all unmanned aerial vehicles, including electronic jaming systems.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Telegram said in a statement that the attack on Ukraine in recent weeks, which has followed a number of increasing air strikes in Ukraine, showed the need for “biting ına to the income resources used by Russia to finance the war, including those who bought Russian oil.
Trump said on Tuesday that he intends to support a bill that will apply upright sanctions to Russia, including 500% tariff in Russian oil, gas, uranium and other export -buying countries in the Senate.
“We get a lot of nonsense by Putin … It turns out that it’s always very good, but meaningless,” Trump said at a cabinet meeting.
When a reporter was asked what action to do against Putin, Trump said, “I don’t tell you. We want to surprise a little.” He said.
Separately, Europe is working on a new sanction package against Moscow.
Trump, who returned to power this year, promised a rapid end of the war in Ukraine, and shifted the rhetoric from his support for his support to accept some reasons for the fully -scale invasion initiated by Moscow in 2022.
However, the first talks between Russia and Ukraine gave small fruit, and did not accept an unconditional ceasefire, proposed by Moscow and Trump and accepted by Kiev.
The US President’s promise to provide more defense weapons, despite the Russian attacks in Kyiv, reversed Ukraine’s days of decision to stop some critical ammunition materials.
After Trump’s new promise, Zelenskyy said on Tuesday that he ordered the expansion of contacts with the United States to ensure critical deliveries of military equipment, primarily air defense.
Trump’s Ukrainian ambassador Keith Kellogg will participate in the 10-11 July International Assistance Conference in Ukraine, where Zelenskyy and Kiev’s European allies in Rome, on Wednesday.
